Hailing from Trichur, Dr Gana Ajoy is a proficient Ophthalmologist and Vitreo Retinal Surgeon who completed her MBBS from Government Medical College, Thrissur in 2003. She went on to do her Master’s in Ophthalmology at the oldest eye hospital in Asia, the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology , Madras Medical College, Chennai. She was fortunate enough to have been trained under the very experienced and dynamic professors at Aravind Eye Hospital, Coimbatore during her fellowship in Vitreo Retinal Surgery.

Following fellowship, she has worked extensively in the field of Vitreo-Retinal Surgery for over the past 11 years. After a short stint as Consultant Vitreo-Retinal Surgeon, Ahalia Eye Hospital she went on to handle the demanding role as Senior Consultant, Vitreo-Retinal Services at the premier eye institution in North Kerala, the Comtrust Eye Hospital, Calicut for over 9 years. Serving as the tertiary referral center for most of the Malabar region in the field of Vitreo-Retina, she was able to gain extensive clinical and surgical skills in her specialized field which she now brings to our esteemed institution.

Backed by strong work ethics, she also strives for academic competence. She has presented several sessions at State and National Conferences and chaired multiple academic sessions. She has been actively involved in academic and surgical training of DNB students of Ophthalmology and Medical and Surgical training of Fellows of Retinal Surgery. She is a member of All India Ophthalmological Society, Vitreo-Retinal Society of India and Kerala Society of Ophthalmic Surgeons.
